Dubrovnik nightlife guide

Nightclubs, discos, clubs and bars

The pearl of the Adriatic with its medieval walls, baroque buildings and shiny marble streets makes a magnificent backdrop for one of the best nightlife scenes you will find at the Adriatic coastline. The main pedestrian area, Placa, is a colourful mix of cafés, restaurants and shops with impressive monuments at both ends. Once the sun goes down, streets are packed with people walking in waves from one restaurant to the other and afterwards moving to the Stradun or the Lapad promenade. After 11pm the crowd changes when families and couples return to homes and hotels and late-night owls and pleasure seekers start to fill up Dubrovnik’s cobbled stone streets. From an outdoor terrace you can overlook the gangs of young loud males and the parade of short skirts and high heels on their way to the club.

Café Festival in the Old Town (Placa 28) is located in Dubrovnik’s most beautiful streets and an excellent place for relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking view. The popular Eastwest Beach Club calls itself a trendy Saint Tropez-style beachfront club where friends meet and friends are made. This trendy beach club is renowned for its international parties (Playboy, MTV) and attracts a mixed crowd of hipsters, nouveau riche, models and other glamorous ladies.  During daytime Eastwest Beach Club is great place for relaxation on the private sandy beach, offering a magnificent view of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, meanwhile at night the club will transform in a vibrant and cosmopolitan party hotspot.

The best and largest number of cocktails in town is served by Hemingway Cocktail Bar (Pred Dvorom) the local brand of the Hemmingway chain of bars. Hemingway Cocktail Bar provides a typical see-and-be-seen scene and the ladies sipping cocktails at the bar are usually real eye candy.

Not many other venues will provide better opportunities to meet your local date then Cafe Buža. This simple but romantic bar situated on the rocks outside the south walls is the best place for watching the sunset. A romantic and intimate setting is also provided by the roof top terrace of Labirint, located on Svetog Dominika 2 in the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Labirint which tends to be a bit pricey comprises a restaurant, nightclub, disco and cabaret theatre.

Also in the Old Town you will find Latino Club Fuego (Pile Brsalje 11) offering a laidback ambiance without strict door policy or dress codes. Latino Club Fuego is the perfect place for unpretentious fun with a diverse musical menu varying from pop and disco to house and techno. Another evergreen in the Old Town is Troubadur, situated near Gundulićeva Poljana (Bunićeva 2). This place owned by a musician is since years one of the key points of Dubrovnik’s nightlife scene.
